Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R8LAZONI0Z4LN A cafe latte, double Splenda with fat free milk and some cinnamon please. How about an cappuccino, ristretto or just a plain black coffee? If you are a coffee addict learn the jargon and you too can become a Barista and stop wasting half your salary at Starbucks or Tim Hortons! There are some interesting and mixed reviews posted here on Amazon. Thankfully I have been given the opportunity to test and evaluate this beast of cappuccino/espresso makers and my review will help you in determining your purchasing decision.Inside you will find the unit itself and a box containing two cappuccino/latte glasses and a "Welcome Pack" box that contains everything you need to keep the EA9000 clean and free from scale for the first few months (depending on how much you use it) and an oily bean cover insert and wand nozzle tightening tool. I spent about 15 minutes wiping away tiny balls of Styrofoam that was clinging to the machine from the packing. Finally I used a can of compressed air and "blew away" the statically stuck balls! You really don't have to read the owner's manual, everything is explained to you step-by-step by the LED colored display once you plug the unit in. I don't know how but it automatically knew what date it was, all I had to do was program the time. It even comes with a tester strip to test the hardness of your water! I will be using water from my Culligan water dispenser so no calcium or iron buildup will be a problem for us. The included water filter is optional to use.The Krups EA9000 is a one-touch color displayed touch screen system that can even program family member's customized coffees in a "favorites" menu (up to eight users). It can be programmed to turn on at specific times during the day. Yes the ingenuity is unbelievable - the machine is beautiful like a piece of art, but it does have some drawbacks.I would have to say the reason this unit loses a star is because of the waste water drip tray is too small for the large amounts of waste water that comes out from cleaning the wand. The waste water tray and the drip tray are combined together and the LED will be constantly displaying for you to empty it. Besides the constant emptying of the trays, the water reservoir does not even hold a half gallon of water. It will hold about 4 cups of water. I found myself refilling the machine quite often, after every four to five cups depending on the size of drink you made. When the machine notifies you that it needs more water there is still more than ¼ tank of water in the tank. You can use either whole beans or ground coffee. The measuring spoon for ground coffee is conveniently located in the inside one of the door's of the machine. You can adjust the strength of the coffee to your liking. You do get a good tasting cup of coffee and it is hot (temperature is even adjustable). When it comes to adding the froth this is where the Krups makes things easier. Unlike other espresso machines which require the milk to be frothed in a separate container, the Krups EA9000 heats the milk and froths it directly in the cup. After it is done heating and frothing the milk, the nozzle rises up and goes backwards to a separate chamber to clean itself after the coffee is done. Next the coffee brews and pours out. It makes the beautiful picture perfect frothy cup of coffee without you having to heat and spoon the froth onto it yourself. In regards to the self cleaning feature, it is very helpful in the cleaning process. Notice I stated cleaning process. The steam/hot water cleaning will not get all the milk residue out from the inside and the tip of the nozzle. After a while you will have to use take apart the nozzle to remove any hard residue left behind. However, you can manually have the machine clean the nozzle whenever you want.In summary - this can make a Barista out of you, but be aware that you will constantly be refilling it with water and emptying the waste water and drip tray. Also even though it states it is self cleaning and because of its stainless steel design it is a fingerprint magnet, you still have to occasionally be doing cleaning maintenance of your own to keep the Krups EA9000 completely sanitized clean and looking spiffy.Keep in mind that you also have to keep up with the cleaning solution bottles (2 included) for the nozzle, the descaling powder (one bag included), cleaning tablets (2 included) and cartridge filters (1 included) which I have yet to find available anywhere since the manual states to get them from authorized Krups After-Sales Service Center (??). Since the Krups EA9000 is so new on the market, hopefully the parts and supplies will be available soon on Amazon. However I really do not think I will be needing the supplies very soon since I do not use hard water and after about making 20 cups of coffee, the cleaning solution bottles has not really shown much use and look pretty full. Must be that it uses a very tiny amount of the cleaning solution.Comes with a two-year warranty and for household use only.Next order please.

Exactly as described. Highly customizable, and very easy to use.I'm big on milk-based coffees - my go-to is a Latte - and I haven't been a fan of fully automatic machines because I've always felt that while they were easy to use, the drinks just never tasted as good. Not this time. It's really THAT good.

I drink a lot of coffee and always wanted an easy way to make coffee-shop quality coffee at home so I was glad to try this Krups machine. It makes very good coffee.Setup was easy. Just take it out of the box, install the water tank, the grounds collector, the drip tray, and turn it on. Then put an 8-ounce bag of beans into the hopper, fill the water tank, and place a mug under the twin spouts. All commands and drink orders are input through the touchscreen once you power on the device. The strength of brew and size of serving are both adjustable from the drink order menu. The machine takes about 20 seconds to pre-heat. It stays warm when delivering coffees back-to-back, but will require another short warm-up if no one has used it in a while.Inside the bean hopper, a separate compartment accommodates single-servings of ground coffee, for example to brew a cup of decaf without having to switch out all the beans.Pros:- The taste and consistency of the drinks is really good. The coffee is delicious and every espresso and latte comes out tasting just like the last. The entire process, outside of refilling the bean hopper and water tank, is completely hands off.- The water tank holds enough for four to five large coffees.- Cleaning is also pretty simple. It'll prompt you to run the cleaning cycle every time it starts up. This option will take about 5 minutes if you select it. You can postpone it instead and just run the cleaning from time to time when you're not in a hurry.- You can program it in advance up with your preferred coffees (strength and volume) and later just select the one you want to prepare.- The machine comes with all the supplies you'll need to make those first cups of coffee except for water, coffee beans and milk. (More about this below.)Cons:- Volume in fluid ounces is adjustable in .3-ounce increments, but the machine brews only one up-to six-ounce cup of coffee at a time. To brew a 10-ounce coffee, you'd have to select two five-ounce cups. This makes the preparation take twice as long and you also get to listen to the grinding noise twice.- The waste water tank is small and fills up quite quickly.- Though it includes enough initial supplies to keep you going for quite a while, eventually you'll need to restock them. That means that you'll periodically be purchasing the cleaning solution for the nozzle, the descaling powder, the cleaning tablets, and the cartridge filters. You can weigh the pros and cons to decide if this machine is a good choice for you. As for me, as I said earlier, for the moment I'm just enjoying the fact that it makes such very good coffee.
