I read the reviews, I should have heeded them......

When we unpacked it - it looks great. The hinge on the door opening on the top of the machine broke after 4 days - but we liked the machine and wanted to give it a chance. Now, today - after only having it seven days the espresso maker is kaput - nothing happens when we flip the switch to start that part of the machine. We've reset by unplugging and repeating the process. I read the reviews on this and all the other combo coffeepot/espresso machines but thought, somehow we'd be exempt - if only. Now I get to package it all back up and return (the reviews were so bad I even kept the packaging in the event of a return). What a nightmare.

I purchased new and after 2 months the entire machine was covered with rust, the top broke off, and the inside mechanism broke. I called for service and was told to pack it up and send it to repair in Long Island - I asked for a replacement and was denied. Service operators are horrible, and I was on hold for more than 20 minutes my first call and called again and waited another 15. I did as told - two weeks go by - no coffee maker, no word, no nothing. I call again and ask for a supervisor, waited a long time, and was told it takes 4 to 6 weeks for repair, and no replacement would be sent, no refund. I wait, finally a "new" machine is sent back at week 5. Within 1 month the "new" machine fails to make coffee, just steam pouring out of the top. I call again, on hold and am told by service rep that no refund is possible, no less than 25 times which makes me very very angry. I'm starting to loose it and hang up. I call back for supervisor, wait for ever, and finally "Tom" comes on the line and says the same thing. I remind him it should not be my responsibility to pack up and ship back while waiting for another coffee pot. I demand a refund, and not very respectfully. He promises his supervisor "Patricia" will call me back and I wait six days, nothing. I will never under any circumstances ever buy from this company and nor should you. Buyer Be Ware - A TOTAL RIP OFF

Purchased this product July 2012. Espresso side stopped working after 8 months and then coffee side decided to quit as well. Returned to Krups (they paid for shipping and repairs). Now less than 6 months later the coffee side ceased to work again. Once again it's at the Krup repair center at their expense.
