Excellent coffee - doesnt survive regular use

Using this machine to make ~10 espresso's a day. Quality of Espresso is great. However, both machines died within less than a year due to water leaking out of what appears to be the grouphead.

Lavazza Point Espresso Machine

Received this machine as a gift and absolutely love it. It makes excellent shots of espresso in very short times. It is very well built and heavily constructed. I would highly recommend this unit to everyone that loves espresso.

Buy with caution

We bought our first Lavazza machine 10 years ago and it lasted for 9 years with over 16,000 cycles (counter on back of machine). It finally gave up after serving us well. WE loved it!The replacement machine is a different story. Lavazza change the machines, removing the vents on top to let the heat out and adding a plastic top inside the brewing area. After less than 1000 cycles it died and was just out of warranty. No help from Lavazza or the people we bought it from. $200.00 later we got the machine back. Two months later it began to leak water and no longer measured the fill of the cups. (it runs until it times out so all cups are 6 plus ounces of coffee) The water leak was traced to a hose that was incorrectly assembled at the factory but the machine in out of warranty.There machines were bullet proof, but not any more.Buy with caution, when they work they are wonderful.
